集中講義初日の7月31日に、総研大以外の院生／若手にも知っていただきたい内容の特別スケジュール
- テーマ
- なんでそうなった、すばる望遠鏡 そして今作っているTMT主鏡
- 概要
- すばる望遠鏡はあの特殊な建物も望遠鏡の一部、原理的に考えられるあらゆる要素と当時の最新（または開発途上）の技術を取り込んで作られました。
現在成果を発揮している性能のもとになった工夫のうち、知られざる要素とそれを作り出した人々のことを、これからの天文学をリードするみなさんにぜひお伝えしたい。
またTMTの主鏡について、その構想、製造の進捗状況、およびコーティングのチャレンジについて紹介し、みなさんにぜひ一緒にこのチャレンジ部分について考えていただきたい。 - 参加方法
- 天文天体物理若手夏の学校開催前日である7月31日、オンサイト（国立天文台三鷹キャンパス）およびzoom接続で聴講いただけます。※zoom情報はのちほど掲載します。
午後のクラス終了後、天文台キャンパスにあるTMT主鏡関係の物を見に行きます（主鏡セグメントあり）。 - 参加条件
- 質問を用意してくること。素朴な疑問、でも訊けるのは今のうちです。
- スケジュール
- 午前のクラス 10:30〜正午
午後のクラス 13:15〜14:45、 15:00 - 16:30

- Central theme
- Making of JNLT (Japan National Large Telescope), aka Subaru Telescope - its fundamentals and developments
Primary mirror segments marching towards TMT - What I would like to convey to you, the future leaders of astronomy
- ・The basics principles and the development of those critical components of the Subaru Telescope
・Behind the scene discussions and tests, and people who conducted those tasks
・What makes the primary mirror segments of TMT and the charge to you, a challenge in the optical coating
・After the class, we will go see some TMT components in NAOJ Mitaka campus. There are some polished pieces which will eventual become part of the primary mirror - Participation Method
- The day before the Young Astronomers and Astrophysicists Summer School, on July 31, you can attend onsite (at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan's Mitaka campus) or tune in via Zoom. *Zoom details will be posted at a later date.
After the class, we will go see some TMT components in NAOJ Mitaka campus. There are some polished pieces which will eventual become part of the primary mirror - Participation Requirements
